Kind of cool stuff from what I am hearing. It's playing on my buddies computer behind me right now, and it is pretty cool. The guy likes to ROCK, that's for sure.

i have a copy of Im Alive and On Fire. from what i remember it was decent but nothing that really caught my attention. i haven't listened to it since i first got it.

but don't take my word for it, i don't like the new black halo's disc either. the music is good but the vocals kill it for me.

i do think a lot of people here will like danko jones though.

Black Halos are a REAL tough one vocally though. That guy was always walking a fine line between cool and complete shit.

I like Danko, but there's something missing. The stuff I heard sounds too sparse production wise. The band apparently does quite well in Europe which is why they moved their homebase from Canada.

Seriously Bill?....I didn't like the first Halo's CD , but thought the Violent Years was great. If the 3 songs on http://www.myspace.com/blackhalos from the new CD are a good indicator of what's on the rest of CD I think I'll love it. Those songs seriously rock IMO.

Aside from the music - which is pretty basic rock n roll but damn does grow on you! - Danko Jones is a fuckin legend!

He's not touring much at the mo', but i first heard his stuff when they played the Kerrang! weekender in '03, he is the funniest, craziest, wittiest goddamned frontman i've ever seen. It's hard to describe but he's amazing at what he does. Most time during the gig his huge tongue flicks around like a demon. If they play soon, check 'em out. It's unusual i get hooked on a band from seeing them 'live' only, so he must've done something right.

I've also got a live CD recorded at Download festival '04, it was bought from the official Download 'download' tent. Recorded through the desk. It's pretty good, but it's one huge 30min track. If anyone in the UK really wants a copy PM me and i'll see if i can sort one out...

He seems like he is overflowing with charisma, so I think I know what you mean. You really can get a clue of how awesome they must be live from the videos.

I found out after I posted this that they were from Canada, otherwise I would have addressed this to you Sandy, since you seem hip on what your country is sending out tune wise. Here is one to be proud of, IMO.

Danko Jones is getting ready to tour the US with
COC. They are opening up for COC with Fu Manchu and Alabama Thunderpussy this summer.
